Gel nail extensions sit at the intersection of chemistry and craft. The material behaves differently depending on temperature, lamp exposure time, and the thickness of each layer. This course documents how those variables interact and what to do when they work against you.
What the course covers
The program starts with nail anatomy and plate assessment. Before any product touches a client, you need to understand why some nails lift, why some crack at the free edge, and what surface conditions cause adhesion failure. These are not abstract concerns. They show up in nearly every appointment.
From there the course moves into form fitting. Paper and foil forms are examined separately. Fitting a form correctly to a C-curve takes practice, and the course includes recorded demonstrations across several nail shapes and cuticle types.
Hard gel versus builder gel
Both materials are covered in detail. Hard gel produces a rigid extension that holds shape under pressure. Builder gel in a bottle is more forgiving during application but requires a different approach to shaping before cure. The course does not recommend one over the other. It describes what each does well and where each tends to fail.
The finishing section covers file grit progression, buffing sequences, and surface preparation before topcoat. A common error is moving to a finer grit too early. The course addresses this with before-and-after comparisons of surface texture at each stage.
Practical considerations
Each module includes a written summary and a checklist of common errors observed during that technique. The checklists are based on documented patterns from training sessions, not theoretical scenarios.
Students are expected to complete practice sets between modules and submit photos for written feedback. Feedback is provided within 72 hours. The course does not include live sessions, so pacing is flexible within the 8-week window.
Course materials remain accessible for 6 months after enrolment closes.
